Hey Campers and Interested Family Members! (And welcome to all those folks that stumbled apon this site and continued reading!)
My name is Alex and I'm extremely excited to be a part of the Summer Theatre here at TrueNorth! This summer is going to be a blast and THAT is a fact. I'll be running the first two camps with two very fun ladies, Susan Vance and Brianna Burke. I'll "officially" choreograph for the Broadway Bound Camp (the choreographer for the Center Stage Camp is AH-MAZING) but I'll be running around quite a bit, so every camper should get a chance to know me.
I wanted to start an "Alex Blog" to give some backstage insight and gossip! You'll have forgive my sidenotes and corny jokes. I'll also try to post some fun videos and sites that campers might find interesting. (Every opportunity is a chance to teach and learn!)
Right now, we are in the sign-up stage. We are trying hard to get our name out there and make sure everyone knows about our camp. One of our goals is to make sure every student who wants to be a part of the camps this summer, can. There are a limited number of partial and full scholarships available. Just call 949-5200, or e-mail us and we can get you an application. (Just to push the program a bit more: The staff is one of the best in the area, and it's one of the cheapest theatre camps in the area. Not to mention the show's are going to be adorable and "off da hook". I should have warned you that a corny joke was on it's way!)
If you know any friends interested in theatre, make sure they know about our camps, as well. Not only would it be cool to know someone here, but mom & dad would love to carpool with friends, I'm sure!
If you're anything like me and can't wait until summer we do have some free classes going on next week and the week after, if you're on spring break. Check out our main site (www.TNC) for more information on those. We'll be ending our Spring Break Spotlight Series with a TrueNorth Family Night April 29th from 5-7. There'll be tons of games, music, food (to buy- wink), and families can learn all about next years season!
Yup. That's where we are now. Next, we'll be planning the camps in-depth. Again, I'm stoked for this summer and am thrilled with the opportunities ahead!
Thanks for reading!
A few more "Alex Facts"
I'm a musical theatre nerd at heart and my favorite food is soup, mashed potatoes, and soft chocolate chip cookies. I'm the youngest of 4. I'm sad that the Oprah show will be leaving, but I am a huge fan of OWN. I also like action and horror movies and was a white belt in JUDO.
